Dr Colette Richardson

Dr. Colette Richardson is lead family and systemic psychotherapist for the Ellernmede Group. She began her career as a nurse and trained both in general and paediatric nursing. She later moved on to work in a therapeutic community for adolescents with mental health challenges, eventually becoming director of the programme. During this time, she trained as a family therapist in Dublin and later in London at the Tavistock Clinic where she did a masters in family and systemic psychotherapy and in addition she trained as a supervisor of family therapists. In 2014 she was awarded a doctorate in family and systemic psychotherapy. She has worked in both outpatient and inpatient services for adolescents with mental health difficulties. In 2012 she began working in Ellernmede. She has worked as a teacher and trainer of family therapists in the UK, Ireland, Hungary and Romania.
