David Viljoen

Position: Consultant Clinical Psychologist
David is a consultant clinical psychologist and lead for specialist psychological services working across the inpatient and outpatient services in London.
He has worked in the eating disorders field since 2008, including as a consultant clinical psychologist in an NHS adult community, day and inpatient service in Oxford. He is passionate about working in multi-disciplinary teams and to develop integrated models of care that can liberate patients and their families from eating disorders.
David is a Chartered Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). He trained in Systemic Family Therapy at the Tavistock Clinic in London.
He serves on committees of the BPS Faculty of Eating Disorders and the Royal College of Psychiatry Quality Network for Eating Disorders (QED). He is is a mentor on the national QED team training programme for adult eating disorders services (EDSA WTT).. He is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Oxford (Doctoral Clinical Psychology Programmes). He has presented at national and international eating disorders conferences.
