Dr Jenny Nicholson is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. She is based mainly at Ellern Mede Moorgate in South Yorkshire. She has been working in child and adolescent mental health services for more than 20 years. Over the course of her career, she has worked extensively within specialist mental health services, including many years in the South London and Maudsley Trust and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
Through this work she has developed special interests in eating and feeding disorders, neurodevelopmental difficulties and the overlap between the two.
She has also worked for many years in the field of medically unexplained presentations and Pervasive Arousal-Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS) and has been involved in a number of research projects in this area.
Dr Nicholson has contributed to a number of specialist books about Eating Disorders in children and adolescents and has been involved in teaching and conferences around this subject both nationally and internationally. She was recently involved as a National Training Mentor as part of the National Programme of Whole Team Training for community eating disorders services for children, young people and their families.
