Charanjit Dosanjh

Department: Clinicians

Position: Occupational Therapist

Charanjit Dosanjh is a highly experienced Occupational Therapist with a particular flair for working with hard to reach individuals.

After completing a degree in Psychology, Charanjit completed post graduate training in Occupational Therapy at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

In her varied career across NHS, private and voluntary sectors in mental health and paediatric settings she has provided clinical occupational therapy services at many London NHS hospitals.  She has also managed a prescribed drugs project at City & Hackey MIND and has volunteered for children’s charity, Carefree Kids and sits on a monthly panel for Synergy Fostering.

“My aim is to make a difference to the lives of all the patients I encounter and this is what I find most rewarding in my role at Ellern Mede, helping children and young people with eating disorders. I encourage patients to learn problem solving skills. We have very complex cases here including patients with Pervasive Arousal Withdrawal Syndrome for whom no achievement is too small.”

Charanjit’s role at Ellern Mede, working closely with the MDT, includes conducting initial OT assessments which incorporate, formulating treatment plans, prescribing adaptations and aids when required and contributing to complex discharge planning. She also works with patients individually and in groups.
