Ellern Mede, the leader in eating disorders treatment, has a vacancy for a Family Therapist to work within our specialist Family Therapy Team at Ellern Mede Moorgate in Rotherham. Salary is negotiable depending on your experience. You will have experience in systemic family therapy. The Essential and desirable skills you will need:
- Applicants must have current UK professional registration
- Desirable – inpatient CAMHS eating disorder experience
- Computer skills in Electronic Patient Records
- Motivation, enthusiasm, flexibility and self-awareness
- Satisfactory health clearance
- Clear DBS check
- Knowledge of mental health difficulties in young people
- Knowledge of therapeutic relationship principles and the CPA
Specialist family therapy interventions and therapeutic relationships play a key role in supporting vulnerable young people to overcome their eating disorder and reconnect with family relationships. You will work within a long-established family therapy team. Your professional relationship with the young people will be close, but boundaried, supportive, but firm with the eating disorder. You need to be psychologically strong, and empathic. You will encounter difficult interactions. You will have the full support of your manager, team and regular supportive supervision.
