Are you a professional, with a current DBS, who has the time to commit to around eight hours a year of volunteer participation in professionals meetings in a mental health setting? If so, we want to hear from you. We have vacancies for these posts in north London and also in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Although these are voluntary unpaid positions, we will cover approved travel costs and expenses.

Who are we? Ellern Mede treats children and young people with eating disorders – an illness that affects thousands in the UK. Since 2000 we have earned a track record of outstanding recovery rates for patients. You can be part of this work as an Associate Hospital Mental Health Act Manager. You may well be a mature person, with a professional career either still active or in the past (not necessarily in healthcare).

We have three hospitals in the following locations: Ellern Mede Ridgeway in Mill Hill, London; Ellern Mede Barnet in Barnet, London and Ellern Mede Moorgate in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Associate Hospital MHA Managers are important to the hospital so that there is objective community input into the running of both the hospitals and the schools. Our services are provided for young inpatients aged 8 to 18 and young adults just after their 18th birthday. Lengths of stay can be six months or more.

Please send your CV, a current DBS if you have one and a covering letter to: [email protected] To talk about the role and your suitability for it, please call  0203 209 7900.
