It is national Carers Week from 7 – 13 June— a good reminder for us all to show our appreciation for the work parents and carers do day in and day out for your loved ones. We would like to honour this occasion and say a special thank you to all Carers and family members.
We have placed ‘Thank you’ banners in reception areas at each site with a notice to collect a flower lapel pin from reception on your way out. Please ensure you collect this on your way OUT for patient safety reasons.
The role of the family in patient recovery is something that we never underestimate. We value the hard work and dedication that families show in supporting their loved one’s through their treatment.
We are always impressed by the creative talents of our patients, whether it be crafts, music, baking, writing and contributions to care planning and service improvement. We are very fortunate to be able to listen to our patients and support them in their aspirations. In preparation for Carers Week, our Activity Co-ordinators have supported patients in using arts and crafts to express appreciation for their families.
Visiting protocols will continue as before, with up to three family members permitted for each visit. Booking is very important so that we can continue to prepare and sanitise safe spaces for your visits. Our team will do all they can to accommodate and make your visit as safe and comfortable as possible.
As always, we carefully assess the risks around visits and home leave for each case individually. Ellern Mede takes the safety of all our visitors, patients, and staff very seriously and we commit to taking all necessary precautions.
