Ellern Mede School, part of Ellern Mede Eating Disorder Service, is celebrating three Doctorates in one year. Over the past six years the school has taken at least one sandwich year placement student from the University of Westminster. Louise Gregor came to the school whilst she completed her 1st Class degree and Masters at Kings. She then went forward to be accepted for study for a fully funded Doctorate in at Clinical Psychology at the University of East London.
In addition to this Marianne Marino, Inclusion Lead, completed her 1st Class degree whilst at Ellern Mede School and her Masters in Mental Health Studies (Distinction – Kings), Graduate Certificate in Counselling Psychology (Distinction) and has now been accepted onto her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at The Existential Academy/Middlesex University.
This week, the school learned that Jessica Williams, who was with us for 4 years and left in July 2017, achieved a 1st Class degree whilst with the school and carried on working with us. She has just been accepted onto a fully funded Doctorate at the university of her choice, in Educational Psychology
Both Adel Shirbini, Head Teacher and Dr Hind Al-Khairulla, Medical Director are delighted at the news which highlights the opportunities available to those wishing to work with us.
Dr Hind Al-Khairulla said; “The school is well supported by therapeutic staff who work with the children and young people throughout their time with us. We provide highly qualified staff across both healthcare and education at Ellern Mede and actively support personal development”.
