After three days of unusually hot weather in Summer 2016 a perfect temperature ensured patients and staff at children’s eating disorder service, Ellern Mede Ridgeway enjoyed a happy day on Friday 22 July 2016 with a barbecue, and games. We played volleyball and also had a game of throwing wet sponges at some of our staff!
Dietitian, Oliver, was a great sport, popping his head through an artistically arranged Board that said ‘Challenge Yourself’ and getting a soaking. Chef, Theresa was one of the first in line to throw a sponge.
“It was funny seeing Oliver getting his face wet,” said one patient. “We had some fun playing games in the sun.”
“I didn’t know how good I was at Volleyball but one of our staff showed me what to do and I think I did really well,” said another.
Centre Manager, Nancy Maicoo and Clinical Lead, Dr Hind Al-Khairulla were there to join in. Nancy said: “It’s always one of the highlights of our Summer to get everyone together where they can run around and enjoy the garden and the Marquee.”
